Police: Strathmore Burglar Stole Credit Cards, Personal Documents

Aberdeen Police are investigating two burglaries and a suspicious incident in Strathmore.

Aberdeen Police are investigating two burglaries and a suspicious sighting in the I-section of Strathmore. All three incidents happened the evening of Monday, June 17, according to Police Chief John Powers.

A burglar allegedly stole credit cards and personal documents from an Idlewild Lane house between 6 p.m. and midnight while the homeowner was out, according to Powers. The home was entered through a rear sliding glass door after a failed attempt was made to enter through a rear window.

The same night at about 10:30 p.m., a resident of Idaho Lane was home when she reportedly heard a loud noise and went to investigate, according to Powers. She told police someone had entered the home through the rear sliding door, but fled without taking anything.

Shortly after, at about 11 p.m., an Irongate Lane resident called police after she saw a person outside of her front door. Officers responding to the scene were unable to locate anyone, according to Powers.

Officer Raymond Campbell and Officer Martin Walsh conducted the initial investigation. Detective Louis Nanna is continuing the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.

Police are also urging residents to secure all windows and doors and to immediately report any suspicious activity.
