The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County (the Y) is welcoming the new year with open houses on January 20 to showcase enhanced wellness centers and a variety of programs that focus on strengthening people of all ages in spirit, mind and body.

The open houses, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Y centers in Freehold, Old Bridge and Red Bank, are free and open to all. Guests will be able to “try the Y and experience our supportive community,” said President and CEO Laurie Goganzer.

“Everyone is welcome to enjoy family activities, try our classes, see our recent facility enhancements, including equipment upgrades, and most importantly, learn about the many ways we nurture the potential of people of all ages, incomes and backgrounds,” Goganzer said.

In March, the nonprofit will mark its milestone 150th anniversary of strengthening generations of families across greater Monmouth County, Goganzer added.

The Y is offering a membership special for the new year at the open houses. Anyone who joins during the open houses will receive the month of February free, plus the joiner free will be waived.

More information about membership and all Y programs, including summer camps, child care, swim lessons and mental health resources that strengthen community will be available at the open houses. All those who attend are invited to enter a drawing for a complimentary 3-month family membership.
