Monday, May 7

A free email basics class at the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library that will teach you how to set-up an email account, and how to send and receive messages.

This free workshop will at the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library focus on Twitter. There are six computers available, but feel free to bring your own mobile device.

The Matawan Unified Planning/Zoning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Matawan Municipal Community Center.

Tuesday, May 8

Parents of Special People Inc. will host Alex Freer, Certified Professional Listening Therapist of Key To Me Therapy, presenting "Quirky Kids How Sensory and Auditory Sensitivities Affect Behavior And What You Can Do To Help." The workshop is free and open to the public and space is limited. Please register at pospmatab@aol.com

Wednesday, May 9

The Library Board will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend and see how decisions about the library are made.

Thursday, May 10

  • Today is the last day to pay your second quarter taxes in Matawan without interest.

At 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aberdeen Township will be providing photo ID cards for adults over 50 years of age. Ident-Adult are photo ID cards that are provided free to all Monmouth County residents age 50 and older. They can be life-saving during emergencies, contain information such as medical conditions, allergic reactions, doctor information and phone numbers, and can be used as a convenient secondary form of identification. A registration form must be complete and can be found at the link above.

Try something new this Thursday afternoon. The cost is $15 per person and includes studio time, glaze, firing and selected ceramic bisqueware. Staff will be on hand to share tips and easy techniques.

The Matawan-Aberdeen Rotary Club will host their Spaghetti Dinner at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Matawan United Methodist Church.

Friday, May 11

Try your hand at archery during this open shoot at the Activity Barn this Friday. All equipment provided. This is a non-instructional program open to ages 8 and up (under 18 with adult). The cost is $5 per person, cash or check only.

This Friday night concert starting at 7 p.m. at the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library will feature critically acclaimed Mezzo-Soprano Frances Devine and international Bass-Baritone Richard Cassell. They will be singing staged arias and duets from Opera and Broadway’s most popular hits
