Animal Lover, Chester Grandmother Dies At 95
Dorothy Sinak spent a decade being active in town.

CHESTER, N.J. – Dorothy Sinak was a devoted church member and animal rights advocate.
The grandmother and Chester resident died Wednesday at the age of 95.
Born in Newark in 1920, Sinak lived in Palm City, Florida and Scotch Plains, New Jersey before moving to Chester a decade ago.

She was a lifelong Lutheran and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Mendham and served on the Altar Guild and participated in the Quilters Group and Book Club. She was a previous member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City, Florida, where she volunteered in the church office and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
While in Chester Sinak was an active member of the Fifty Plus Club and Healthy Bones exercise group. She was a passionate conservationist and animal rights advocate.

She is survived by a son, daughter, and three grandchildren.
A celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held Friday, Feb. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the William Leber Funeral Home on Furnace Road in Chester.
A funeral service will be held on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Mendham.
