Fallen Trees Lead To Road Closures In Chester: See Where
Officials are urging residents to stay in their homes for the next few hours.

CHESTER, NJ — Chester officials are urging residents to stay in their homes as trees and wires come down all across the neighborhood.
A fast-moving storm with wind gusts of up to 60 mph has trees collapsing onto roads, taking down power lines, and disrupting traffic.
According to Chester police, a tree fell on 206 just north of Hillside Road. Additionally, Route 206 is closed between Old Chester Road and the Somerset County line due to downed power lines across the road.

A Chester police alert that went out at 4:20 p.m. asks residents to “consider staying home for the next few hours.”
It’s not clear at this time when the roads will be reopened.

Roughly 125 Chester customers were without power as of 4:30 p.m. Friday. Power is estimated to be restored by 8 to 8:30 p.m.
