Chester Church Member, Korean War Vet Dies at 83

Donald Pfleger spent more than a half century at Community Presbyterian Church in Chester.

CHESTER, N.J. – Donald Pfleger was dedicated, no matter what he did.

The Ironia resident and member of the Presbyterian Church of Chester for more than 50 years died recently at the age of 83.

Pfleger fought in the Korean War and was a life member of the VFW Post 7333. He was a member of the Ironia Presbyterian Church and Community Presbyterian Church in Chester for more than 50 years.

In his professional life, Pfleger was a longtime manager for Prudential before retiring.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol, four daughters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Chester. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Foundation, the Randolph Animal Shelter, or the Eastern Christian Children Retreat.
