Chester Family Creates Over-The-Top Snow Sculptures
Snowman? More like snow dragon, snow Buddah, snow King Kong... Check out photos of a Chester family's outrageous snow creations.
CHESTER, NJ — Snow days are a great chance to get outside in the winter, and building snowmen is a tradition— but one Chester family takes that to the next level with their outrageous snow sculptures.
The Oswald Family (husband and wife, Grant and Toby, and daughter, Teigan) have been making the outlandish sculptures for years now. They hope for one good snow a year, and this year's came in early-March, giving them a chance to sculpt a giant Light Fury (pictured above), one of the dragons from "How To Train Your Dragon."
"We just like making people smile if it is just for a minute of their day! People stop — take photos and have a quick chat if we are outside and often that one moment can be life changing — sounds so corny saying that but it is true. There were a few stories this week that made me tear up and hug the person," Toby Oswald told Patch.

The family really took advantage of the blizzard in the early 2010s, creating a giant King Kong sculpture that took over four hours (they got help from Grant's dad with that one).
The pictures of the sculptures are also a fun way to track Teigan's growth, Oswald pointed out.
