Driving Tickets Jump 49% In Mendham Twp. In 2015
Indictable offenses down 89-percent, state says.

MENDHAM TWP., N.J. – Crimes worthy of an indictment plummeted in Mendham Township, but moving violations tickets skyrocketed between 2014 and 2015.
According to a report released by the New Jersey State Department of Justice, Mendham Township saw a radical decrease in indictable offenses, and an uptick in overall municipal court filings from July to December 2014 to the same time frame in 2015.
In 2014, Mendham Township had 70 indictable offenses. In 2015, however, it only had eight.

However, disorderly persons and petty disorderly persons offenses rose 66-percent, from 143 to 237.
Tickets given for driving violations were scattered in Mendham Township, with driving while intoxicated violations dropping from 29 to 15, while all other moving violations jumping 49-percent from 758 to 1,133.

Overall, Mendham Township saw a 37-percent increase in municipal court filings year-over-year from 1,025 to 1,405.
