Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has joined the board of directors of the New York Mets.

Christie, 58, was New Jersey’s governor from January 2010 to January 2018. His son Andrew has worked for the team since 2018 and is the Mets’ coordinator of international scouting.

"I am thrilled to join the New York Mets Board of Directors today at the invitation of my friend @StevenACohen2," Christie tweeted. "As a Mets fan for over 50 years, it is a great opportunity and I look forward to helping Steve and Alex Cohen and the whole Mets organization."
