Longtime Mendham Borough Police Officer Promoted To Sergeant
Lee Barnes, who has worked with Mendham Borough's Police Department since January 2006, was promoted to Sergeant on July 26.

MENDHAM, NJ — The Mendham Borough Police Department has promoted Lee Barnes within the past week from patrolman to sergeant.
Police Chief John Camoia told Patch that Barnes’ promotion during Mendham Borough Council’s most recent meeting, was to a sergeant position that’s been vacant since 2019.
There have been no other current promotions or retirements, Camoia added.

Camoia said Barnes’ career started with the borough in January 2006. It’s the only department the prior lifelong Mendham resident - who Camoia said moved to another town after he married - has worked at.
Barnes graduated from West Morris Mendham High School and Rutgers University, as well as the Morris County Public Safety Academy.

As part of his ongoing training with the police department, Camoia said Barnes will need to attend special training required for police supervisors, in the FBI-LEEDA program.
