Mendham School Board Candidates: Contested Election Ahead

MENDHAM, NJ — Both the Mendham Borough and Township Boards of Education will have contested elections this fall.

Four candidates filed to run in total for three available, three-year seats in Mendham Borough.

The candidates are for these seats are:

  • Deborah D’Urso
  • Sean Havey
  • Cristin Adinolfi
  • AnneMarie Hornyak

On Mendham Borough’s Board of Education, President Beth Cocuzza’s, Havey’s and Hornyak’s seats are expiring at the end of the year.

In Mendham Township, three candidates filed to run in total for two available, three-year seats; and two for one two-year, unexpired term.

The candidates are for the three-year seats are:

  • Adam P. Dubeck
  • Peter Dumovic
  • Jubin Pejman

The candidates are for the two-year unexpired term are:

  • Richard Gondek
  • Thomas Keeling

In Mendham Township, the only incumbent listed on the Board of Education’s website roster who filed a petition is Dumovic.

On the West Morris Regional Board of Education, no seats are open for Mendham Borough or Township members.

The contested school board races add other layers to Mendham’s election season. Though there were uncontested Democratic and Republican primaries in both the Township and Borough, there will be a contest in November’s General Election for Mendham Township.

In Mendham Township, Republican Mayor Sarah Neibart and Deputy Mayor Nick Monaghan ran unopposed. However, in the General Election Democratic nominees Eric A. Inglis and Meredith L. Sahi, will challenge them for their seats.

In Mendham Borough, no candidates ran in the Democratic primary and Republican Councilmen Steve J. Andrew and P. Brennan Reilly ran unopposed.
