Mendies Announces 2016 Honorees
Former mayor, group, international 'hero' among list of those being awarded.

MENDHAM, N.J. – Just when you think the Mendies can’t find more outstanding locals to honor, they capture a crop of excellence.
The annual fundraiser that enshrines members of Mendham Borough and Mendham Township into a local hall of fame has announced its four award recipients for this year’s event.
Former Mendham Township Mayor Katie Porter and former Mendham Borough Department of Public Works superintendent David Crotsley will be inducted into the Mendham Hall of Fame while the West Morris Junior Women’s Club will receive the award for group.

Finally, Mendham High School graduate Maggie Doyne, who founded the Kopila Valley Children’s School in Nepal will receive the Outstanding Citizen award. Doyne recently won the 2015 CNN Hero Of The Year award.
The ninth annual Mendies Awards will be held at the Sisters of Christian Charity on March 11. Tickets are $50 and are on sale at the Brookside Post Office, Lakeland Bank, Provident Bank, and the Wicker Basket.

Doors for the event open at 6 p.m. If any tickets remain, cost is $60 at the door.
