At its annual reorganization meeting, the board voted to have Mendham Township’s Rob Strobel lead the governing body, with Washington Township’s Lisa Woodring serving as vice president.

Strobel was the vice president in 2015. He succeeds Chester Township’s Gary Lakritz, who served as the lead for two years. The board voted unanimously for Strobel, and 7-1 for Woodring, with Don Storms opposing.

It’s the first time since 1999 a Mendham Township representative was the board president, when Thomas Bruning served from 1995 to 1999, according to the board office.

Storms, of Chester Borough, along with Joseph Galayda and David Kennedy of Washington Township, were all sworn in to their three-year terms at the meeting. Storms was re-elected in Chester, while Galayda and Kennedy won their seats with write-in campaigns. Kennedy replaces John Meyer on the board.
