‘Shook-Up Show Tunes’ Coming Soon To Chester

The Chester Theatre Group plans to perform Broadway hits in the gazebo at Chester's Municipal Field on Aug. 21.

CHESTER, NJ — About a dozen ensemble singers from the Chester Theatre Group are warming up their vocal cords to sing hits from Broadway composers and lyricists in Chester’s gazebo on Saturday, Aug. 21.

“Shook-Up Show Tunes,” starts at 7 p.m. with a rain date the following day at 2 p.m., at Chester’s Municipal Field on 134 Main Street.

Cast members are: Bridget A. Burke-Weiss, Ian Federgreen, TracyLynn Haskell, Cassandra Lindeblad, Brendan Lynch-Littlejohn, Sean Lynch-Littlejohn, Amanda Marino, Sky Monroe, Chris Mortenson, Jill Mortenson and Will Sandoval.

Rachel Lichter Friden is Shook-Up Show Tunes’ director, Lily Boyle its producer and Martha Riley the music director.

The performance doesn’t cost anything to attend, but donations are gratefully accepted by the Chester Theatre Group. Attendees are welcome to bring a blanket or chair to sit on, as well as snacks and sodas, to enjoy while watching the show.

The Chester Theatre Group, which prides itself in being “a bit of Broadway in your backyard,” is readying to perform William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” Oct. 29-Nov. 14, “Ebenezer: A Shadow Carol” on Dec. 11-12 and “The Dresser” on April 22-May 8, 2022.
