• Big Central Conference releases 2026-27 football division alignments (mycentraljersey.com) — Metuchen football fans will see new Big Central Conference matchups in 2026-27, with Metuchen moving into the Patriot Silver division alongside Spotswood and Perth Amboy. St. Joseph-Metuchen remains in the American Gold, keeping its large-school slate intact. The realignment reshuffles several other Middlesex and nearby schools, setting up fresh rivalries across the region.
   

• Man facing attempted murder charge after stabbing at N.J. home (nj.com subscription) — Police responded to a stabbing at a Durham Avenue home in Metuchen on Dec. 3, where a 23-year-old man was injured and taken to the hospital. A 29-year-old New Brunswick man has been charged with attempted murder and related offenses and remains in custody pending a Dec. 12 detention hearing.
   

• Wardlaw+Hartridge Students Attend Empire MUN Conference (tapinto.net) — A Metuchen student, Chiara Baldi, was among Wardlaw+Hartridge’s Model UN delegates who spent four days debating global issues at NYU’s Empire MUNC conference. The Edison-based school’s team joined more than 450 students, sharpening public speaking and leadership skills. Organizers and student leaders called the experience inspiring and a highlight of their MUN season.
