3 Family Members Shot Dead Inside Their South Plainfield Home ID'D
A 23-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting three members of his family Monday morning in a South Plainfield condo:
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Three members of the same family were shot dead inside their condo Monday morning in South Plainfield, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in an update Monday night.
The three people killed were identified as Dilipkumar Brahmbhatt, 72, his wife, Bindu Brahmbhatt, 72, plus a younger man, Yashkumar Brahmbhatt, 38.
The man accused of killing them is Om Brahmbhatt, 23, who was inside the condo when police arrived at the scene Monday morning. The family lived together in the condo.

Police were called there at 9 a.m. Monday for a report of gunshots fired. The condo is on Coppola Drive, in the Traditions condo community off New Durham Road.
The husband and wife were pronounced dead at the scene. The 38-year-old man was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later Monday morning.

Brahmbhatt was arrested without incident Monday and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree weapons offenses. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Jail.
Detective Thomas Rutter of the South Plainfield Police Department and Detective Javier Morillo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are leading the investigation.
