MIDDLESEX, NJ — Police had to rescue a man who drove through a flooded road Tuesday night in Piscataway, according to Township spokesman Gene Wilk.
This happened late Tuesday night on Possumtown Road, which is known to flood. Police put barricades up, but the man said another driver removed them and attempted to drive through. He had to call 911 to be rescued when his car started floating in the water and he lost control of the vehicle.
Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler has called for tougher penalties for drivers who remove or move aside cones on roads that are flooded.
