NJ Teacher’s Salaries Rise In NJ: See How Much Your District Pays

Median teacher salaries rose in New Jersey last year. See what your district pays.

Most New Jersey teachers saw their salaries increase for the 2024-25 school year, according to information from the state Department of Education.

The New Jersey Taxpayers Guide to Education spending for the 2024-25 school year shows the median salary for teachers in the state's 655 districts was $82,780, an increase of 3.2 percent from 2023-24, where the median was $80,196.

The median is the midpoint of each district's salaries, with half of its teachers earning more and half earning less. Those figures are affected by the number of new teachers in a district and the number of those who have advanced degrees that increase their pay.
