Middlesex Boro Flood Warning In Place Until After Midnight
Middlesex borough and areas around it will remain under a flood warning until 1 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, said the National Weather Service.

MIDDLESEX, NJ — As rain from Tropical Storm Henri refuses to let up Monday, Middlesex borough and the areas around it will remain under a flood warning until 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, according to the National Weather Service.
A flood warning is in place for Somerset until 6 p.m. Monday.
Nearly 10 inches of rain fell over some parts of New Jersey due to Henri, with flooding and the hardest hit pockets occurring in Cranbury, East Windsor, Plainsboro, Helmetta, Monroe, South Brunswick and Sayreville.

However, even the city of Newark reported that it had to rescue up to 85 people, including 12 children, from flooding on Sunday. Newark firefighters rescued 59 adults and 16 children in seven separate incidents, and Newark police rescued 11 people in four separate incidents, according to Pix 11.
Locally, River Road in Middlesex borough was closed due to flooding Sunday morning.

In South Brunswick, Rt. 27 at the Princeton border was closed due to flooding Sunday, and flooding closed many other smaller roads as well.
