1,000 Homes Currently Without Power In Lincroft, Howell

First, there was a transformer fire in Lincroft Monday night, and 500 homes in Lincroft have no electricity Tuesday morning.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Monday night's high winds caused some damage throughout Monmouth County:

First, there was a transformer fire in Lincroft Monday night.

There are also currently 11,000 JCP&L customers across the state without power as of Tuesday morning, according to parent company FirstEnergy's outage map.

There are outages across New Jersey and Monmouth County, but Lincroft and Howell were hit particularly bad, with up to 500 residents in each of those areas without power Tuesday morning.

There is another pocket of 100 homes currently in the dark on the Holmdel/Marlboro border.

At the height of the storm Monday night, just past 10 p.m., about 1,000 homes Old Bridge lost power, but that appears to now be restored.

In Aberdeen, Atlantic Avenue is down to one lane of traffic due to a gas leak as of 6:15 a.m., according to Aberdeen Police. There are delays around the train station.

Unlike other NJ Transit lines, the North Jersey Coast line is running Tuesday morning, but subject to 20-minute delays due to debris (fallen trees) on the tracks in Middletown.
