MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file to run for Middletown Township Committee, the New Jersey governor's race and state Assembly seats.
Here is who is running in Middletown:
- Twp. Committeeman Rick Hibell, Republican, seeks re-election
- Twp. Committeeman Kevin Settembrino, Republican, seeks re-election
- Shawn Wallach, Democrat, is running for Twp. Committee
- Jeremy Seideman, Democrat, is running for Twp. Committee
In the state Assembly, Middletown is in New Jersey's 13th legislative district.

Assemblymembers Vicky Flynn (R-Holmdel) and Gerry Scharfenberger (R-Middletown) will seek re-election.
On the Republican side, they will be challenged by Rich Castaldo, a Republican businessman and film director who says he was a speechwriter on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign, New Jersey Globe reported.

Jason Corley, Long Branch High School’s athletic director, and Vaibhav George are the two Democrats running to represent Middletown in Trenton.
The primary election is June 10; the main election will be in November.
