2013 in Photos: Wreaths Across America Honors Service Members at Thorne

Middletown Patch takes a look back at 2013 through some of the more memorable photos captured around town. 

Our top photo of 2013 comes from the December celebration of United States service members at Thorne Middle School when more than 700 students and staff welcomed Wreaths Across America. 

In the photo, a wreath is placed at the monument honoring Cpl. Horace "Bud" Thorne, who was killed during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. 

"It's amazing that they chose us as one of their stops on the way down," said Principal Thomas Olausen. "It's an incredible honor for our students, our community and we just couldn't be happier to have them here."
