MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Here's everything planned for pre-teens, tweens and teens this summer at the Middletown Township Public Library (MTPL).

Unleash your inner artist with library programs that embrace this summer’s "Color Our World" summer reading theme, get college ready with a virtual webinar series and free practice exams, and hang out in MTPL’s brand-new Teen Room all summer long.

Cards for a Cause – June 3, July 2, and August 13 from 3 – 5 pm

Drop in to make cards for Middletown seniors. Volunteer hours will be offered for each card, with a limit of 5 cards for 5 hours.

Mario Kart Night – June 11, July 30, August 27 at 7 pm

Join an exciting evening of Mario Kart racing! Go head-to-head against your friends on Mount Wario or take on Rainbow Road!

SAT, PSAT, ACT Practice Tests – June 14-30

Take full-length SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT® practice tests. Receive an interactive score report to help evaluate your strengths and areas of opportunity to improve your score. Register via the mtpl.org calendar by June 14 and enjoy access until September.

Color Our World: Tie-Dye Art – June 24 at 4 pm
Create a tie-dye drawstring bag in the children’s garden. Dress for a mess.

Dungeons & Dragons Night – June 26 at 5 pm

Join a one-shot adventure of humor and hijinks, of daring rescues and fierce combat. There will be a selection of pre-made characters to choose from at the start of the program, but if you are familiar with character creation, you are welcome to make your own before the program.

Summer College Readiness Webinar Series: SAT, ACT or Both? – July 1 at 7 pm
Join The Princeton Review for a series of live, virtual events & get the info you need for your college readiness journey! In this first session, one of The Princeton Review’s test-prep experts will explore the similarities and differences between these college admissions exams, highlight the truths and debunk the myths, and introduce you to key strategies we use in our courses to crack standardized tests.

Intro to Photography Workshop & Scavenger Hunt – July 9 at 6 pm
Learn about photography basics with Opal and Jaye Photography and go on a photo scavenger hunt with Polaroid cameras.

Color Our World Board Game Night – July 14 at 6 pm

Relax in the library’s air-conditioned Teen Room and play summer reading themed board games with Shore Gamers!

Clay Earrings Workshop – July 23 at 6 pm

Create your own colorful clay earrings to take home with Be Above Designs.

Essays that Kicked Apps (Summer College Readiness Webinar Series) – July 24 at 7 pm
Join this virtual webinar with The Princeton Review to learn why your personal statement is so important, see real examples of successful essays, and discover how to avoid common pitfalls and make your essays shine.

Block Printing Art Class – August 6 at 6 pm

Painting Waves Fine Art will show teens how to carve designs onto linoleum and use them on a canvas tote.

The Grades That Get You Into College (Summer College Readiness Webinar Series) – August 28 at 7 pm
In this final summer webinar session, The Princetown Review will discuss why grades matter, how application readers look at your transcript, and what you can do right now to begin improving your grades so that your application is ready to break down doors when it arrives at an admissions office.

The listed programs are for teens ages 13-18, and registration is required for most via the mtpl.org calendar. Early Registration for Summer Reading Challenges Begins June 2.
