April Programs For Children/Teens At Middletown Public Library

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Spring into fun with one of these upcoming library programs for children and teens happening in April at the Middletown Township Public Library.

Registration is required for most programs at mtpl.org.

Tween Game Night – April 1 at 7 p.m.: Bring a friend or make a friend and play Trivia, Bingo, Pictionary, HeadsUp and more. For ages 9-12.

Cards for a Cause – April 2nd at 3pm – 5pm: Drop in to make cards for Middletown seniors. Volunteer Hours will be offered for each card with a Limit of 5 cards for 5 hours. For ages 13-18.

Gymboree for Walkers or Babies – April 3rd at 10am and 11am: Gymboree of Red Bank offers gym classes for toddlers and babies.

Book Explorers – April 8th at 4:15pm: This month, the book explorers will dive into the Mercy Watson series by Kate DiCamillo. For grades K-5.

Project Patchwork – April 9th at 4pm: Knit or crochet blanket sections to be joined into blankets and donated to local organizations for those in need. Volunteer Hours will be offered for this program. Must be ages 12-18 to participate and must know how to knit/crochet.

Read to a Dog – April 10th at 4pm and April 21st at 6pm: Improve the literacy skills of children by reading for ten minutes to a certified therapy dog. Four sessions available each day. For independent readers in Grades K-5.

Bright Star Theatre presents Winnie the Pooh – April 16th at 11am: The beloved literary classic comes to life with Pooh, Christopher Robin, Owl, Eeyore and all the favorite characters from “Hundred Acre Wood” as they find themselves in the playful predicaments. For grades PreK-5.

Pokémon Trading Night – April 17th at 7pm: Trade with fellow Pokémon fans, discuss Pokémon books and movies, play the Pokémon trading card game with your own deck. For ages 8+.

Teen Poetry Workshop with Project Write Now – April 17th at 7pm: Celebrate National Poetry Month at this workshop for teens, ages 13-18!

Saturday Family Storytime and Craft: Bouncy Frogs – April 19th at 10am: Celebrate National Frog Month with fun stories about frogs followed by a bouncy frog on a lily pad craft! For ages 3 and up.

Teen Art Program: Flowerpot Painting – April 22nd at 7pm: Celebrate Earth Day by painting a cute smiling flowerpot. For ages 13-18.

Tween Book Club – April 23rd at 4:15pm: Discuss books and make new friends at this monthly book club for tween ages 9-12. This month’s selection is "Willodeen" by Katharine Applegate.

Bookworms Book Club – April 24th at 4:15pm: Share your love of reading at the Bookworms Book Club! For ages 5-8. Join the Bookworms Reading Challenge on Beanstack!

Bayshore Family Success Center Earth Day Craft – April 28th at 4pm: Join a special Earth Day craft painting plant pots. If weather permits this program will take place outside.
