Broken Down Car Ends in Drug Arrest for Middletown Driver in Holmdel
A Middletown woman was arrested and charged with drug offenses after an officer responded to a report of her car breaking down in Holmdel.

A Middletown woman was arrested and charged with drug offenses after a Holmdel officer was dispatched for a report of a broken down car.
Holmdel Police Patrolman Sigismondi responded to the area of Middle Road on August 30 for a report of a car that had broken down. Upon arrival Ptl. Sigismondi discovered that the operator of the vehicle, Kaitlin Mahan, 22, of Middletown, had a suspended driver’s license. Mahan also had an active traffic warrant from Keansburg for her arrest.
A subsequent investigation by Ptl. Sigismondi found that Mahan was in possession of LSD and Ecstasy. She was placed under arrest at the scene for the traffic warrant and on two separate charges of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Her vehicle was impounded due to the registration being suspended. Mahan was also charged with Driving While Suspended.

Mahan was transported to the Holmdel Police headquarters where bail was set at $10,000 and she was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in lieu of bail payment.
An arrest is not a conviction, and every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
