UNION BEACH, NJ — Construction started on the Starbucks that's coming to Union Beach.
This is the Starbucks coming to where the former Bank of America used to be, at 1500 Union Avenue on Rt. 36 north, just past David Burke's the GOAT restaurant, which permanently closed in early August.
The Bank of America building was torn down at the beginning of the summer.

Union Beach Mayor Charles Cocuzza said he was told construction on the new Starbucks will start in mid-September. However, a spokeswoman for Doren Development — which owns the lot — said construction already started.
This will be a Starbucks with a drive-through. It will have a parking lot and outdoor seating. Doren Development published this rendering of the new Starbucks, and information about the project.
