JCP&L Reports 30K Power Outages In Thursday Night's High Winds
In Thursday night's high winds, about 30,000 customers lost power across Monmouth and Ocean counties.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Thursday night's high winds brought a tree down onto a house on the 100 block of Jumping Brook Road in Lincroft, according to Middletown Police.
There was nobody home when the tree came down and there actually does not appear to be any structural damage to the home, said police. The falling tree did rip down some power lines with it; TAP Into has a photo: https://www.tapinto.net/towns/...
About 30,000 customers in total lost power in Monmouth and Ocean counties due to Thursday night's wind storm, said a spokesman for Jersey Central Power & Light, the area's electric provider.

However "hundreds of these involve what we call 'single no-lights' — outages affecting one customer," said JCP&L spokesman Chris Hoenig.
As of 11 a.m. Friday, 7,000 customers in the area were still in the dark, he said.
