JCP&L Gives Education Grants for Middletown Educators and Scout Leader

Educators received the grants for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), by FirstEnergy Corp.

Monmouth County educators have received 10 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Grants from FirstEnergy Corp. The grants are awarded each year to educators and youth group leaders located in communities served by FirstEnergy’s 10 electric operating companies, including Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), and in communities where the company has facilities or does business.

STEM Grants ranging from $200 to $500 and were awarded to:

  • Kali Lambrou, Trinity Hall, Leonardo
  • Lisa Call, Ivy Hill Preschool, Rumson
  • Christopher J. Bonin, BSEE, Boy Scouts of America, Troop 140, Belford
  • Dr. Daniel Kaplan, Matawan Regional High School, Aberdeen
  • Lorraine Kevra and Dr. Joe Molitoris, Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank
  • Susan Pisano and Laura Buchanan, Ravine Drive Elementary School, Matawan
  • Christine Giordano, Thorne Middle School, Port Monmouth
  • Cheryl A. McDonald and Christopher Zrada, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, Highlands
  • Kristin Krupa, Bradley Beach Elementary School, Bradley Beach
  • Jo-Ann Trilfro, Millstone Elementary School, Millstone.


“JCP&L’s annual educational grant program supports innovative classroom learning and increases interests in the STEM fields of study,” said Elaine Vincent, manager, Community Involvement for FirstEnergy. “We’re pleased to help Monmouth County’s educators implement programs that enrich student learning.”
