MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Two more Monmouth County Walgreens stores will close. They are:

  • The Walgreens at 901 Main Street in Asbury Park, NJ 07712 (currently still open, a closing date has not yet been posted)
  • And the Walgreens at 642 Newman Springs Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown will close in March, the Asbury Park Press just reported Tuesday.

There is apparently a sign outside the Lincroft Walgreens that reads: "Store closing permanently March 17, 2025. The store and pharmacy will both close at 12 p.m."

Walgreens announced in October 2024 it will be closing more than 1,200 Walgreens stores across the U.S. over the next three years, as the struggling drug store chain attempts to complete a successful financial turnaround.
