Middletown Day is Coming! Celebrating 350 Years of Middletown History This Year

Middletown Township’s annual Middletown Day will be held- rain or shine- on September 27 from noon to 6 p.m. at Croydon Hall.
The fall festival boasts activities for all ages including a business and community showcase, craft fair, live local music, tournaments, children’s activities, fire department demonstrations, a petting zoo, hayrides, flea market, food court and more. Event is rain or shine.

Arts and Crafts
The Middletown Arts Center will set up shop at Middletown Day. Drop by to peruse local art, meet the Doodle Dude and watch some of the performers from the Talent Showcase. There will also be free arts and crafts for our youngest visitors.

Business and Community Showcase
Beam with community pride as you visit the local business and community groups that support Middletown. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the many businesses spread across Middletown’s 42 square miles and meet the volunteers that work so hard to make Middletown a great place to call home.

Exhibits
Learn about nature and colonial times at the Poricy Park Conservancy exhibit; storm water pollution at the Clean Communities display; and drug abuse prevention at the Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse’s community rally.
Family Fun Activities
Family fun abounds throughout the festival grounds. There’s a petting zoo and pony rides under the trees, free arts and crafts at the Arts Center exhibit as well as carnival games, bouncy houses, sports contests for children and adults on the football field, and fire safety lessons in the smoke house. Don’t forget to get your ride on the family favorite: the hayride!
Fire Department
Our volunteer firefighters will be on hand with equipment displays and demonstrations. The children are always welcome to explore the trucks and try out the drivers’ seats.
Food Court
Local food vendors will offer an array of traditional food fare, tasty snacks and refreshing drinks. You can enjoy your choices right on the lawn or under the Food Tent.
Live Entertainment
The day offers continuous live entertainment on stage. A series of talented performers with local roots will perform in the entertainment tent for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Shopping
Stroll through the craft fair with items ranging from jewelry and clothes to paintings, photography, and toys. It’s a great place to get a little early holiday shopping done. Don’t forget to visit Granny’s Tag Sale where Senior Center members sell treasures, trinkets and bits of nostalgic knickknacks.
Sports Contests
Sporting contests for children ages 6-15 will be held during Middletown Day. Tournament winners will be honored at the October Township Committee meeting.
Middletown 350
Middletown 350, a town-wide celebration of the township’s settlement in 1664, began at Middletown Day 2013. The culmination of this yearlong celebration will be at Middletown Day 2014. Be on the lookout for special activities and events that reflect our founding 350 years ago. Also, Collectible copies of the Passport and Guide to Middletown Township, collectable coins, sun catchers, commemorative glasses, and more will be available for sale at the Middletown 350 Tent.
Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for Middletown Day 2014.
It takes many volunteers to make Middletown Day a success. Civic, fraternal, community, and school groups as well as businesses are always welcome and encouraged to participate. Certificates documenting community service hours are issued. Please email us if you or your group can lend a hand.
Parking and Directions
Middletown Day will be held at Croydon Hall, which is located at 900 Leonardville Road in Leonardo.
Parking is limited at Croydon Hall. You can park at the following locations and ride the free shuttle to and from the Middletown Day grounds. Continuous round trip shuttle services will be provided every 5 to 10 minutes.
