Middletown McDonald's Is Back Open, With Modern Look And Bigger Drive-Thru
"We've been (talking) with the corporation, believe it or not, since 2005 to get this restaurant remodeled," said Rt. 35 McDonald's owner.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown McDonald's on Rt. 35 north reopened over the weekend.
Before it was knocked down and reconstructed, this was one of the last classic-looking McDonald's in the entire state of New Jersey. The original McDonald's was built there in 1971. People said it was like stepping back to the 1970s and '80s every time they entered the Middletown McDonald's.
"We have been in discussions with the corporation, believe it or not, since 2005 to get this restaurant remodeled," the owner of the Middletown McDonald's told the Asbury Park Press when the restaurant prepared to close for reconstruction last year.

The revamped McDonald's now has a side-by-side drive-through, a third window in the drive-through that it did not have before and new kiosks and technology.
They had their official grand re-opening Saturday, and owner/operator of that location, Kristen DeFilipo and family, offered the community a day of fun, with a 360-spin camera, face painting and live music. Mayor Tony Perry and Middletown officials were also there for a ribbon cutting.
