Middletown Repairing 'Seriously Damaged' Lincroft Acres Soccer Fields
After they were damaged by vandalism last week, one field at Lincroft Acres is open, but the other will be closed for several more weeks.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown Township is repairing the Lincroft Acres soccer fields that were damaged by vandalism last week, Mayor Tony Perry said in update Tuesday afternoon.
"The one field is usable and open," said the mayor Tuesday. "We are currently back-filling the damaged area on the other field. The Township just put down sod, which will take multiple weeks to grow, so the field will remain unusable for the next several weeks."
Middletown Township announced in this Facebook post Friday that one of the soccer fields at Lincroft Acres "was seriously damaged" by individuals driving across the grounds.

Someone or multiple people, likely in a quad, did doughnuts across the fields last week.
As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made in whoever committed the vandalism. If you have any information, you can report it confidentially to the Middletown Township Police Department by calling 732-615-2100.

The Lincroft Acres fields are used by Middletown Rec soccer and football leagues. The vandalism was especially unfortunate as Lincroft Acres is the only grass soccer field with lights in that part of Middletown, so kids can practice on the fields at night.
"It is in the process of being repaired so we can open it as soon as possible for practices," said Perry Tuesday.
