How do you know the local hero?
She is my sister
What does the local hero do?
She put her schooling on hold to move in with my grandma to be her 24-hour caregiver while she died of cancer.
Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?
When my mom was unable to care for her mother, my sister stepped in the care for her. She watched my grandma deteriorate as the cancer spread, which was both physically and mentally demanding to make sure she was taken care of at home. My sister is my hero for doing what she did to help our grandma.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?
She is incredibly strong for being able to do what she did. Our grandma helped raised us and my sister was extremely close with her. There are not many people who can do what she did.
Thank you for all you do, Paige Brady!
