New Indian Restaurant Now Open In Highlands
Sea & Sand Indian Fusion, at 231 Bay Avenue in Highlands, just opened:
HIGHLANDS, NJ — A new Indian restaurant just opened in Highlands, and it's called Sea & Sand Indian Fusion, located at 231 Bay Avenue in Highlands, a residential street.
The restaurant says it "combines authentic Indian cuisine with modern interpretations, offering locals and visitors a fresh new destination just steps from the waterfront."
They will also serve seafood dishes inspired by India’s coastal regions, and small plates designed for sharing. The restaurant does not have a liquor license.

Head chef is Premjit Namdev Khaire, who was born in Mumbai into a family of chefs; he is a third-generation Indian cuisine chef.
Khaire has completed on Indian cooking shows and his career includes serving as the embassy chef for Ireland in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he designed menus for ambassadors and high-profile diplomatic events. He's received Malaysia Tatler’s Best Restaurant Award and the Times Food Award for Best Indian Food in Mumbai.

Menu highlights includes Khaire's signature Murg Mussalam, a Mughlai-inspired dish of boneless half tandoori chicken simmered in a spiced tomato-based gravy, blended with grated boiled eggs and minced meat.
Hours are Monday to Thursday 10:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Friday to Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. www.seaandsandnj.com
