Part Of Oak Hill Road In Middletown Closed From Sept. 14-22

Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oak Hill Road will be closed in both directions between Normandy Road and Rebecca Drive:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, September 14 and lasting until 7 a.m. Friday, September 22, Oak Hill Road in Middletown will be closed in both directions between Normandy Road and Rebecca Drive.

This is to replace the existing railroad crossing, announced the NJ Dept. of Transportation.

The closure is necessary to reconstruct the crossing and approaches. Oak Hill Road will only be open for local traffic; residents who live on that road.

"In order to provide safer and smoother railroad crossing, the existing crossing will be replaced with new concrete crossings and asphalt approaches," said the Dept. of Transportation. "This federally-funded project is included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program, which repairs, upgrades or removes approximately 50 crossings each year, statewide. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.'"

Oak Hill Road eastbound detour:
• Motorists on Bamm Hollow Road eastbound, which becomes Oak Hill Road, will be
directed to turn right onto Middletown-Lincroft Road/CR 50 southbound
• Turn left onto Dwight Road eastbound, which becomes Nutswamp Road/CR 12
• Turn left onto Navesink River Road/CR 12A northbound
• Turn left onto Route 35 northbound, back to Oak Hill Road

Oak Hill Road westbound detour:
• Motorists on Chapel Hill Road westbound, which becomes Oak Hill Road, will be
directed to turn left onto Route 35 southbound
• Stay right to take the ramp to Navesink River Road/All Turns
• Turn right onto Navesink River Road/CR 12A southbound
• Turn right onto Nutswamp Road/CR 12 westbound
• Turn right onto Middletown/CR 50 northbound, back to Oak Hill Road
