TINTON FALLS, NJ — Are you a fan of Rook Coffee?

This Monmouth County coffee shop has a cult following — especially for their cold brew, which they ship nationwide. And Rook just announced this week they plan to open a brand-new 11,000-square-foot coffee plant in Tinton Falls, intended to at least double their cold brew production.

The new Rook headquarters will be located on Shafto Road in Tinton Falls.

Currently, Rook roasts its coffee, does packaging and runs operations out of a warehouse on 3rd Avenue in Long Branch. But the company plans to move all cold-brew operations to the Tinton Falls warehouse by early fall, and be fully moved in by November.

Rook co-founders and now co-CEOs Holly Migliaccio and Shawn Kingsley first started Rook in 2010. They now have 11 coffee shops in Monmouth and Ocean counties: Two in Oakhurst, Colts Neck, Freehold, Holmdel, Long Branch, Little Silver, Manalapan, Point Pleasant, Red Bank and Wall.

Rook hinted that it may open a new 12th location sometime soon. But where?

Once they're moved into their Tinton Falls headquarters, Rook said it plans to launch new cold brew flavors this fall and winter, including limited releases, and explore "potential new store openings in the near future."

At their new Tinton Falls plant, Rook will install state-of-the-art brewing equipment and new automated systems — designed to significantly increase their cold brew production, said Rook president Brandon Purcelly. Plus, the move will allow Rook to increase sales at its rapidly growing e-commerce operation, as the company increasingly ships its roasted beans and cold brew across the country.

“This expansion has been years in the making,” said Purcelly of the move to Tinton Falls. "With the new automated systems, Rook’s production team can reduce manual labor and focus more on quality control and research and development. And the new layout will promote collaboration and give our headquarters team the tools they need to thrive."

"Nothing in the product will change. Quality remains our number one priority," he vowed.
