- Simply Storytime at Middletown Township Public Library: This family program will be offered at various times to accommodate all families. For all ages. 6:30 p.m.
- Conversational Spanish program at Middletown Township Public Library, led by Maria Jose Martinez Reid. 7:00 p.m. Register online at MTPL.org.

- Group Knitting meets at Middletown Township Public Library at 12:30 p.m.
- Tai Chi For Seniors at the Middletown Senior Center, East Wing, from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

- First Friday Book Group at Middletown Township Public Library meets at 9:30 a.m. Book selection is The Signature of All Things byElizabeth Gilbert. Coffee at 9:00 a.m., discussion at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday, January 3
- Tutoring at Middletown Township Public Library: Come to the Children’s Quiet Reading area for a free tutoring by high school students. There is no registration for this program; students will be taken on a first come, first served basis. For ages 6+. 9:00 a.m.
- Reading Buddies at Middletown Township Public Library: No registration needed. First come, first serve basis. For ages 4+. 10:00 a.m.
- Deep Cut Gardens Drop-In Surprise Story Time, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.: Join in for story time. If the weather is nice, look for the clue at the Horticultural Center’s entrance that leads to the secret spot. If it’s rainy or cold, we’ll be inside. FREE!
- Deep Cut Gardens Opening Reception for The Residents of Deep Cut Gardens: Photography Exhibit from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m., Horticultural Center: Meet with the photographers of this charming exhibit. Light refreshments served. Exhibit open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., January 4 to January 31. FREE!
Sunday, January 4
- Thompson Park (Lincroft): Open Ceramics, from 12:30-4:30 p.m., Creative Arts Center: Choose from a large selection of bisque fired pottery pieces to glaze and make your own. The cost is $6 per hour plus price of bisque ware; cash or check only. Pieces will be fired in about a week.
