Adopt a Cat From Valley Vet

Animals found around Millburn sit at Valley Veterinary Hospital until claimed or adopted.

Are you looking for a cute kitten to bring home to your family? Or are you looking for an older cat that gives you animal companionship without the need for house training?

There are four abondoned cats at Valley Veterinary Hospital, 2172 Millburn Ave., looking for a good home. All of them are domestic short hair cats who are well-tempered.

This is all thanks to Veterinarian Norman J. Stack, who over the last eight years to make that happen has worked with Millburn Animal Control to keep these animal alive.

Two of the cats Blaze, 7-year-old, and Bright Eyes, 4-years-old, were brought in to be euthanized two and a half months ago but the hospital asked if they could try and find them a home.

"It'd be nice for them to go together because they came together but they can go seperate.," a techninian, Jodi Kruis, said. "The owner just had too many cats."

One of the cats, named Apple, is not even a year old yet, the veterinary staff said. Apple was named by where Animal Control Officer Joe Bielski found her, outside the Apple store, a few weeks ago.

Fancy, named after a Dolly Parton song, has been in the hospital for the longest time, over nine months and still looking for a good home. She is about 6-years-old.

All the cats are up to date with shots and are all loving animals. Whenever Bielski picks up an animal, he brings them to the animal hospital and Stack takes care of the dog or cat.

Bielski and Stack are asking Millburn and Short Hills residents to ask around if anyone wants to adopt these lovable cats who both need a good home.
