Committee Cuts Down on Commuter Parking in Neighborhoods

Millburn ordinance approves parking limits on Oak Hill Road, Oakview Terrace and Woodland Road near Short Hills train station.

The Millburn Township Committee approved a new ordinance at Tuesday night's meeting that will limit daytime parking on three Short Hills streets to cut down on commuters parking in residential neighborhoods.

The committee approved the ordinance to address residents' complaints about parking in neighborhoods near the Short Hills train station instead of designated commuter parking lots. 

The ordinance will limit parking to three hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on:

  • Oak Hill Road
  • Oakview Terrace
  • Woodland Road, between Ridge Terrace and Wellinton Terrace

"Now instead of just prohibiting overnight parking, this will prohibit all day parking," Millburn Committeewoman Sari Greenberg said.

A Short Hills resident in attendance thanked the committee for the ordinance.
