Midtown Direct Rep Brings Broadway to the Area

"Broadway's Night Off" will feature acclaimed local actors

Midtown Direct Rep (MDR) will present "Broadway's Night Off," a fundraising concert, at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Monday, October 1.

The event will feature a Broadway-themed silent auction followed by a special concert performed by MDR company members including Ron Bohmer (Phantom of the Opera), Catherine Brunell (Mary Poppins), Michelle Federer (Wicked), Becky Gulsvig (Legally Blonde) and more, singing selections from Avenue Q, Chicago, A Chorus Line, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Rent and Wicked.

Auction items include house seats, back stage tours, and signed memorabilia from Broadway and Off-Broadway plays and musicals such as Evita, Mary Poppins, Rock of Ages, and the 25th Anniversary Les Miserables Tour; voice lessons, acting coaching, and theater classes and signed scripts from current film sets.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 973-313- ARTS(2787) or by visiting SOPACnow.org. Prices: $25 for Balcony Seats, $35 for Orchestra Seats, and $75 for House Seats and Your Name Written into a Song (limited quantity available). Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for the Broadway Themed Silent Auction, followed by the Concert Performance at 8 p.m.
