Millburn High School Dancers Perform at Pearl Harbor Parade in Hawaii
The five dancers were just one of seven groups from around the country to perform at the historic event, and only two from the East Coast.
Five Millburn High School student dancers participated in memorial ceremonies at the 2014 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade held in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 2014.
The Millburn High dancers made history as one of just seven dance and cheer groups to perform at the parade this year. The talented students were also one of only two groups from the East Coast to perform at the historic event.
This year’s parade theme was: “remembering the past and celebrating our future.” The parade was held on the 73rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that initiated the U.S. entry into World War II.

The MHS group performed two numbers at the parade. They danced to the “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” at the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park on Friday Dec. 5, and on Sunday, Dec. 7, they performed at the Opening Ceremonies of the Pearl Harbor Parade.
The group received an American flag that has flown over the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, and two plaques to honor their participation in this historic event.
