Millburn Resident Opens Roosters Men's Salon
Jody Frank brings the chain to the Main Road shopping center in Montville Township after opening his first Roosters in Summit 15 months ago.
Millburn resident Jody Frank has opened a new salon geared toward men and boys in a Main Road shopping center in the Towaco section of Montville Township.
The Roosters Men's Grooming Center franchise was opened by Frank who opened his first Roosters in Summit 15 months ago.
He settled on the location because he sees Montville as "a really great community with families," he said. The location, which previously housed a salon, underwent around $200,000 in renovations to give the space what the company's website describes as an "old-school barbershop" feel. There is a TV and a poster for "The Big Lebowski."

Frank said Roosters is where young men, professionals, dads and their kids can get a nice haircut for not a lot of money — $15 for kids and $35 for men. The salon offers straight razor shaves and hot towels.
"I don't think there's really a good option for an upscale men's salon," he said.

A grand opening celebration for the salon, 440 Main Road, is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday with refreshments, raffles and a 5 p.m. ribbon-cutting. Abstract art by Frank's brother, Mikel Frank, is expected to be showcased in the salon.
The chain has 55 salons in the U.S. and Frank plans to open two more in New Jersey. He is considering locating them in Morristown, Red Bank, Westfield and Livingston.
