Millburn Schools Celebrate Youth Art Month
High school will showcase student art on Thursday, March 20
It’s March, which once again means it is Youth Art Month, a national program designed to emphasize the value of art and art education for all children. This year’s theme, “Art Shapes the Future” will be on display in Millburn when the school district holds its annual celebration of the arts, this year at Millburn High School on Thursday, March 20 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The venue has been changed to accommodate more visitors and a larger display of student art including architecture, crafts, dance, digital arts, film, photography and other fine arts representing Millburn's K-12 Art curriculum. It is an evening when honored students celebrate with their families and teachers. All students, families, staff and friends of the arts are welcome to this 2014 K-12 Celebration of Youth Art month.
Millburn High School will also celebrate the 2014 Scholastic Art and Writing Award winners on Monday, March 17th in the auditorium. Student art and writing will be on display at 6 pm and the presentation will begin at 7 pm. Winning students in Millburn represent all parts of the Millburn Township art curriculum and include works in categories such as printmaking, painting, drawing, digital arts, sculpture, crafts, photography, film, architecture and comic art.
