Millburn Sports: 19 Titles, 2 Undefeated Teams, 19 State Qualifiers This Year
Check out all the awards, championships and records of the 29 Millburn High School varsity teams from this past school year.

As this year's school year comes to an end, Millburn High School sports have won 19 championships with 17 teams finishing with records of .500 or better.
Boys Cross Country and Girls Golf finished with impressive undefeated seasons.
Out of the 29 teams: the high school earned 10 Conference Championships, two County Championships, three Sectional Championships, three Group Championships and one Tournament of Champions Title.

"That is amazing excellence in education,"Superintendent of Millburn School Dr. Crisfield said. "I really want to say congratulations to our student athletes and their coaches.
Below is a breakdown of all the Millburn High School varsity teams' awards, championships and records with some praise from administration:

CROSS COUNTRY
Boys: Overall record (23-0).
- SEC American Division Dual Meet Conference Champions.
- SEC American Division Meet Conference Champions.
- Essex County Champions. 2nd Place NJSIAA North 2 Group 3 Sectional Championship.
- 3rd Place NJSIAA Group 3 Championship.
- 14th Place NJSIAA Meet of Champions
- Jeff Kaye selected as the NFHS Coach of the Yr. in the NJ.
Girls: Team record (17-1).
- Tied for American Div. Dual Meet Title.
FIELD HOCKEY
- Qualified for States once again.
- Won first round of states defeating Watchung Hills
FOOTBALL Finished the season with a (5 – 5) record
- Qualified for the State Tournament
SOCCER
Boys:
- Essex County Champions, Group 4 Sectional Champions, Group 4 Champions.
- First time in history of the MHS to win it all in Group 4.
Girls:
- Qualified for State Tournament.
- Andy Sones retired – Welcome Mike Hogan .
GIRLS TENNIS Overall Record (24-2) .
- SEC American Div. Champions,
- Sectional Champions (7th in a row, 30th overall).
- Group 4 Champions (7th in a row, 18th overall).
- Tournament Of Champions Runner-Up.
- First time in history of the MHS to win it all in Group 4.
- Team honored by The Essex County Bd. Of Chosen Freeholders.
- Bill Wickenheisser honored as the National Tennis Coach of the Year.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Overall record 10 – 6.
- Most Improved Fall Team
- Qualified for the State Tournament.
BASKETBALL
Boys: Overall record (15 – 10).
- Won the SEC Independence Division Title. First conference title since 1982.
- Qualified for States.
- Coach Blind earns his 200th career win. Rodger – inducted into the NJSCA Hall of Fame.
Girls: Overall record (14 – 12).
- Very competitive in the second strongest division (Liberty) in the SEC.
- Qualified for states
COED BOWLING
- Team placed 5th in the Conference Championship.
- Bowlers must now purchase their own bowling balls. Improvement on the horizon
SWIMMING
Boys: Overall record (11-3).
- Runners-up in both the SEC and the County Championship Meets.
- Ben Lin breaks SEC and County Meet record in the 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke. Lin places 3rd in State Championship Meet.
- Chris Balbo sets 500m Free SEC Record.
- Competed in State Sectional Finals for the first time in over 10 years - (lost to Westfield).
Girls: Overall record (8-5).
- Placed third in both the SEC and the County Championship Meets
- Qualified for States. Beat Ridgewood in first round
FENCING
Boys: Overall record (12-2).
- Tied for the TCFL Championship in its inaugural season.
- Finished 3rd overall in the State.
Girls:
- Implemented a stronger student-athlete accountability policy.
- Working to alter the culture of the team. Should begin to enjoy the benefits next year.
ICE HOCKEY Overall record (14-11).
- Most Improved Winter Team
- Qualified for States for the first time in many years.
- Won the Codey Arena B Division Holiday Tournament.
WINTER TRACK
Boys:
- Fr. 4 X 800m Relay breaks Essex County Relay Meet Record
Girls:
- “Some of the nicest students are members of this team,” said coach Chris Feeley.
- Administration thanked Feeley for taking over as coach in the middle of the season.
WRESTLING Overall record (9-13).
- Dylan Pollack wins District X Title.
BASEBALL Overall Record (23-5) one of the best in the history of the school
- Won the SEC American Division Title
- May be the most competitive Division in the state
- First conference title since 2005. Were upset in second round of the states
GOLF
Boys: Overall record (9–9).
- North GR. 3 Regional Tournament runner-ups.
Girls: Overall record (12-0).
- Conference Dual Match Championships
- Conference Tournament Champions
- Claire Serruto wins Conf. & County Titles
- Claire Serruto finishes tied for 8th in State Tournament
LACROSSE
Boys: Overall Record (11-6).
- Holds on to the “Jake Cup” for the 5th year in a row.
- Won 2 rounds in State Tourn. Losing to eventual Sectional winner Ridgewood in OT.
Girls:
- Highlight of season – Capturing the Border Cup VS Livingston for the 4th year in a row.
- Penny Kaye leaves for Arizona.
SOFTBALL
- Highlight of season – victories over Mtc. And Belleville. Young team with a promising future.
SPRING TRACK
Boys:
- Moved up to American Div. after winning it all last year in the Liberty.
- Rob Stone qualified for the meet of champions.
Girls:
- Moved up to American Div. after winning it all last year in the Liberty.
- Zoe Taitel - Sectional Discus Champ. May be first thrower to qualify for the Meet of Champions in 30 years.
BOYS TENNIS Overall Record (29-1)
- SEC American Div. Champions.
- First time in history of MHS to win it all in Group 4.
- Sectional Champions (7th in a row, 30th overall).
- Group Champions (7th in a row, 18th overall).
- Tourn. Of Champions Winner
- Andrew Noff (Sr.) and Evan Imegwu (Jr.) win State Doubles Championship.
- Team honored by The Essex County Bd. Of Chosen Freeholders.
