Millburn Takes No. 1 Ridgewood Into Overtime in State Semis (Photos)

The Millers pulled ahead 4-0 in the first quarter but overtime was necessary to separate the two teams.

The Millers came out fast on Friday afternoon in their rainy semifinal game against Ridgwood. Despite their fast start they were not able to knock off the No. 1 seeded Ridgewood squad. The Millers fell 7-6 in an overtime thriller.

Millburn coach Bill McCutchen went and personally hugged each of his seniors after the game and had a word for them.

"This team was a huge underdog coming into this one and I couldn't be prouder of their performance. They left everything the had out there," said McCutchen. "We have 12 seniors and I couldn't say more about this group helping build our program. We've take big steps for our program over the last few years and that is something that this group should always be proud of."
