Millburn Third Graders Learn Kindness and Compassion From Caring Kids Puppets
Students learned to have empathy for kids coping with deafness, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities from puppets and local handlers.

Millburn third graders learned about compassion, kindness and empathy from a group of lively puppets and handlers at a special presentation last week.
South Mountain School students met the puppets and handlers from the Caring Kids Group at an assembly on Nov. 19 that exposed the third graders to five different skits addressing deafness, learning disabilities, and cerebral palsy. The students are also given the opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.
The Caring Kids group is on tour this week with their annual Kids on the Block puppet show. A troupe of volunteer puppeteers comprised of parents of children in the local schools come together every November to put on a show with puppets Mark Riley, Melody James, Mandy Puccini, Brenda Dubrowski, Jennifer Hauser, Jimmy Randolph, and Anna Perry.
