Millburn's Middle Schoolers Present Roald Dahl’s Matilda This Weekend

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn Middle School thespians will take the stage this Friday through Sunday for Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.

The Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m. A Sunday matinee will be presented at 1 p.m.

The story of a young girl with magic powers, Matilda won five Tony awards after it opened on Broadway in 2013. It's based on the popular 1988 children’s novel by Roald Dahl.

"The production staff is thrilled to have their cast and crew return to the MMS stage after two years without a spring musical," noted the organizers, "and this year’s much-anticipated show will prove to be worth the wait."

Theater teacher Mark Oppel is the director. Miles Messier serves as the vocal director. The MMS musical is co-produced by Marina Reilly and Dominick Pisa. The set decoration has
been completed by art teacher Claudia Sohr. The set has been constructed by Matthew Bach.

The production involves 154 Middle School students in the cast and crew.

Tickets are $15 and are on sale online at mms.booktix.com. They will also be available at the door on the day of the performance.
