A Millburn-based service organization is hosting a number of events during the month of March to raise awareness during National Brain Injury Awareness Month.
Opportunity Project, a service organization for people with brain injuries, is hosting a month-long series of events beginning on March 2, including presentations, workshops and events, and its signature event, Healthy Brain, Healthy Me Wellness Day, the organization said in a press release.
Healthy Brain, Healthy Me Wellness Day, sponsored by Barnabas Health and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, will take place at the Opportunity Project Clubhouse, 60 East Willow St., on Wednesday, March 18. “So many people are affected by brain injury through car accidents, sports concussions, work incidents, falls and medical conditions like stroke,” Carol Albanese, Executive Director of Opportunity Project, said in the release. “Yet as an invisible condition, few people understand the affliction.”
