Essex County College renovated its existing Nursing Simulation Lab through grants from the Higher Education Equipment Leading Fund and the state Facilities Trust Fund, totaling $696,217, the college said.
The newly renovated lab includes a debriefing room and observation room for up to 30 students. Additionally, the lab comes with four new mannequins -- three adults and one baby -- that can simulate a variety of chronic illnesses and simulate what students in the college’s nursing program will encounter in a hospital or similar setting, the release said.
