Renowned Authors Stephen Chbosky, Liz Maccie to Visit Millburn Library
Stephen Chbosky, author of the prolific novel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Liz Maccie will speak at the Millburn Libray on Dec. 4.

The Millburn Free Public Library will host a book talk featuring two renowned authors of young adult fiction, Liz Maccie and Stephen Chbosky, on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Chbosky, a New York Times bestselling author, received tremendous notoriety for his novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which was first published in 1999, adapted into a movie in 2012, and now has more than 2 million copies in print.
The book is a coming-of-age story for the introverted teenager Charlie, a high school freshman coping with love, loss and acceptance. The novel was also adapted in to a major motion picture with Emma Watson, with Chobsky playing a crucial role in its production.

Liz Maccie’s debut novel, Lessons I Never Learned at Meadowbrook Academy, hit bookstore shelves in early November to wide acclaim and excellent reviews. The story follows Roberta Romano, who is entering her sophomore year at the affluent Meadowbrook Academy.
Roberta battles her own insecurities to prove her worth and maybe land the boy of her dreams. With the help of two unlikely allies -- and an inflatable toy raft -- Roberta embarks on a journey of dark secrets and self-discovery to learn the true meaning of friendship and acceptance.

Both authors will discuss their books and will sign any books or DVDs of their work that attendees bring with them. The library will also have both books available for sale. Admission to the event is free.
